********Email Update To Families Sent 4/29/2020:************
Good Morning Rec. Child Care Families!
We hope this email finds you and your loved ones healthy and safe. With all the spring cancellations of school, sports, and other activities, a fun summer at camp is needed by everyone. Please be assured that we are taking the COVID-19 situation and its potential impact on the summer very seriously.
Although the picture for the summer is not very clear yet, we are busy planning for various contingencies. Luckily, we have a few months and with the guidance of the Governor’s office, our local COVID-19 Response Team, we will see how events progress and to determine how to move forward in the safest manner for our community. The health and well-being of our campers and staff is of the utmost importance.
Right now this is what we do know: camp will look different this year than from what we have done in the past.

  • Camp will be divided into smaller camps to help keep numbers lower and to help spread campers and staff out.

  • Camp would start July 6th and would run for 6 weeks to help the school clean and sanitize properly for the beginning of the school year.

  • Camp will be on campus more to help keep campers and staff safer from community spread of the virus.

  • Campers would need to be screened every morning and parents will need to be patient with that process.

  • Lunches will need to be provided by RSU 23 Nutrition Free Lunch Program in order to help lessen the chances of contamination at camp.

As this is a rapidly evolving situation, we feel that one of the most important things we can do right now is to remain adaptive and flexible. We anticipate that our specific plans will come into focus as we get closer to the start of camp. We will let you know as soon as possible as new information becomes available that changes in program or offerings.
